Full Mouth Rehabilitation
A full mouth rehabilitation is a complex procedure for a full reconstruction of the mouth. This is the reason Dr. Miguel A. Ortiz elected to study full-time for three additional years after graduating from Harvard School of Dental Medicine to become a prosthodontist. It requires a deep understanding of the joints and muscles of the face, head and neck, and is often required when there has been significant breakdown of the existing teeth or older dental work. It can also be required when a patient is missing multiple teeth from birth, or is born with abnormal or deficient enamel protecting the teeth. A full mouth rehabilitation is a life-changing event. Patients that have had this kind of treatment done often express to Dr. Ortiz how they regret having waited so long to embark upon this journey. Once they experience what a healthy, functional and good-looking smile brings to their life, they never want to look back.
"My experience with Dr. Ortiz was very positive. He recommended, as I went into retirement, that a full mouth reconstruction would eliminate a need to address aging teeth. Teeth with fillings would become unstable requiring expensive intervention over time. I could not be more happy with the result. Not only are the reconstructed teeth attractive but my mouth is in good health and stable. Dr. Ortiz is an artist at reconstruction and a thoughtful professional." Bob Brustlin, Newburyport, MA.
